80s Dresses

First of all, work out what makes a classic dress from the 80s.

• Bold colour
  
• Shoulder pads
  
• Any size belt, from slim to wide. (Usually around the waist)
  
• Baggy top section with a mini skirt bottom section
  
• Frills
  
• Polka dots

This photo was taken in the early 80s - 1982. I'll dig up some dresses from the mid and late 80s. Yep, I have the dorky hair cut. :-) Not long after though, I went to the hair dresser and asked for a "Lady Di" hair cut. (Which just meant short hair in a layered style)

Note my mum's blue eye shadow and permed hair! Cool, hey?

So where do you find these awesome 80s delights?

First, I would ask Mum, and the aunties.

Or try the good 'ol op/charity/vintage clothing shop. As I say, it will be like treasure hunting.

Don't forget, you will usually do well, by searching

Here's a few awesome 80s styles of dresses worn at a recent 80s party. I swear, you should find these sorts of dresses cheap in any charity second hand clothing shop. The great hope, is that they have something in your size.

Love these 80s off the shoulder or one shoulder dresses. I had one of these when I was about eleven years old, but it didn't look anywhere as near as spectacular.
